Game Format for the Men’s League – 2025

Teams of 5 players – $100 per player for the 2025season

• 16 weeks of play: 9 holes per week front and back alternately.

A 9 hole game can be played one week in advance.

• Games will be played from Sunday to Saturday. The 3 best net scores over the 5 team players will count. If on a given week, only 2 players of 5 can play, then the worst score registered during the week by any other team will be attributed to the team with only 2 players.

• You have to be at least 2 league players to play your game.

• A revision of Handicap scores will be done regularly, reducing or increasing it for each player.

• Score cards have to be completed properly and legible with the full player name, team and date of game.

New : For players with a handicap of 24 or higher, the quadruple bogey will count.

• All players (members or non-members) will pay their registration during the drafting day or before the season begins on May 20th 2025. Payment is in cash.

• Teams will be formed during a drafting information session in May 2025 at the Thurso Golf Club and captains will be selected at that time as well.

• Players who wish to play a league game have to inform the Proshop before starting their game.

The weekly league game has to be played with a league participant.

  • You must notify the pro shop clerk that you are playing your league game, before the start of your game.
  • The person accompanying you doesn’t have to be playing his league game as well. This person can accompany more than one person.
  • Scoring cards must be legible and include the players full names as well as the date the game is played.

Local Rule: The road on hole number 1 and the small ditch at the left of the road: you can place your ball at the right of the road, within 2 club lengths, and play your 2nd shot OR play without penalty on the road. It is your choice.

When a ball is lost, the player can go back to the point of entry, parallel to that point. It will be possible to place a ball in the fairway and hit shot number 4 from that point OR hit another ball from the teebox.

NEW: For players wiht a handicap of 23 or lower, the maximum score per hole is a triple bogey (+3).

New : For players with a handicap of 24 or higher, the quadruple bogey will count.

  • Each player MUST complete all putts.

Ball is found near an unmovable obstacle

  • An unmovable object is, for example, a tree, a large rock, a heavy bench or other types of structures.
  • If the ball is found near an unmovable obstacle, it is possible to move the ball within a 1 foot radius (30 centimeters).

Pickets:

  • White – (out of bounds) Holes 3, 5, and 9. You must hit shot number 3 using another ball from the teebox.
  • Red – The player can go to the point of entry, use 2 club lengths parallel from that point, place a ball and play shot number 3.
  • Yellow – From the point of entry, you can back up as far as you want, place a ball and play shot number 3.
